WILDING MEMORIAL LECTURE

♦ DR. C. E. HERCUS TO GIVE PUBLIC ADDRESS Dr. C. E. Hercus, Dean of the Medical Faculty in the University of Otago, who recently spent a year in Europe and America investigating the nature and methods of the physical training and education of youth and its place in national life, has been selected to deliver the Wilding memorial lecture. The endowment for this lecture was a gift to Canterbury University College by the late Mrs Wilding in memory of her son, Anthony, and her daughter, Gladys. The lecture is required to deal with some subject relating to woman in education and society, or to the physical aspect of education and social life. This year it is to be delivered on Thursday, August 8. in the Civic Theatre, at 8 p.m. Dr. Hercus will speak on “Women and National Survival,” with particular reference to physical education and social life. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. ___________
