Pilot Officer Malfroy has been on active service since the outbreak of war, and a few months ago, in a “dog fight” with the enemy, he shared in a bag of seven Heinkels and Dormers that fell in Belgium to a British squadron from the West of England.

The Christchurch Drainage Board last evening granted leave of absence for four months to a member, Mr C. Hill, because of ill-health. Mr Hill will go to Australia.
