The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening somewhat on the coast. Weather fine and mild. Seas slight. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island;— Light to moderate northerly winds predominating. Weather fine, bat cloud increasing and scattered showers developing, in the south. Mild temperatures. Seas slight to moderate. DOMINION The following is the Dominion forecast: — Weather mostly fair to fine. Isolated showers still possible, however, in districts with an easterly aspect from Hawke’s Bay northwards, and scattered showers developing later in the far southwest. Cold again to-night, but temperatures becoming milder. An anti-cyclone covers the northern Tasman Sea and New Zealand, bat pressure is beginning to fall in the south. At 6 p.m. the temperature was 46.1 degrees and the barometer showed 1027.3 millibars. Dunedin—The weather was sunny yesterday, and there was no wind. The maximum temperature was 59 degrees.
