No decision on the question' of organ recitals in the Wellington Town Hall this winter was made by the City Council at its last meeting, and. the Mayor (Mr T. G. A, Hislop) said that the matter could be. considered later. Cr. H. A. Wright remarked that Sunday night recitals had been an absolute failure. Even outstanding performers had failed to attract more than 20 or 25 persons. Any attempt to reintroduce the recitals would only mean a dead loss to the council. Mr Hislop recalled that the council had set up a sub-committee to arrange items, but the recitals had proved a complete failure.
