FAREWELL SOCIAL AT CHEVIOT
.. There was a large and representative gathering at a social held in the Spotswood Hall recently to bid farewell to Mr J. McLean, who is leaving the district. The evening was spent in cards and dancing, the music being supplied by Mr E. Campbell, and extras played by Miss W. Elliott and Mr V. Smith. Items were given by ,Miss B. Morrison. Mr G, Harrison was master of ceremonies. Mr C. G. Abbott, for the residents, presented Mr McLean with a suitcase, a rug, and a cheque, and wished him success in his new life. Mr McLean has purchased a farm at Russell’s Flat. ■ •
