PROTECTION OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN
SOCIETY’S ANNUAL REPORT The work through the year continued to be very varied, and so never becomes monotonous, and statistics show that there has been no idleness, says the thirty-second annual report of the Canterbury branch of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children, The president, the Rev. I. L. Richards/ was given leave of absence in October for health reasons. Details of the work done include 1670 visits, 3258 callers interviewed, and 3364 cases handled. During the year the secretary, Miss E. J. M. Cardale, was appointed as a conciliator to the Magistrate’s Court.
