CITY PROPERTY DEAL
> 1 ■■ " Building in Hereford Street PURCHASE BY FIRM OF IMPORTERS A large city property which has recently been sold is the building owned, and occupied for many years, by Hope Gibbons, ’ Ltd., wholesale merchants, in Hereford street, on the south-west corner of Latimer square. The building, which is a substantial three-storeyed one in concrete, has been bought by A. M. Satterthwaite and Company, Ltd., importers, who occupy part of the building in Hereford street formerly known as Skelton, Frostick’s. This building has been bought by the Government and already houses a number . of Government departmental offices, including the Social Security Department, the employment division of the Labour Department, the State Placement Service and the Wheat Research Institute. The price paid for the Hope Gibbons building has not been disclosed but it is understood to have been well in line with present market values. The deal was negotiated by Messrs Ford and Hadfield, Ltd.
