FRANCE AND THE BALKANS
REPORTED AGREEMENT WITH ITALY LONDON, April 19. Interpreting a copyright message from the Paris correspondent of the “Chicago Daily News,” Mr Edgar Mowrer, the “New York Post,” suggests that it states, as clearly as the censorship permits, that Italy and France have reached *&n understanding on the Balkans. The Prime Minister of France (M. Reynaud) ajlparently made an important statement in the Senate concerning this question yesterday. ■ A message from Paris states that the Chamber agreed to M. Reynaud’s demand for a secret session which was held to-day. The Chamber passed a unanimous vote of confidence in M. Reynaud’s Government. The resolution gave unqualified support for the Government, and said that the Chamber approved of the Government’s , declaration, and trusted it to continue to victory with the war policy which had obtained the approval of Parliament and the people. . M. Reynaud’s speech was received just as enthusiastically as in the Senate yesterday.
