- < UNITED CLUB The United Croquet Club concluded the season with an afternoon and evening social. A golf croquet competition was played during the afternoon and prizes were.won by Mr Blunt and Mrs Cram--mend. Afternoon tea, was served In the pavilion, after which the prizes were presented by Mr G. Richardson as. follows: — Open championship, Mr A. Ross; runnerup, Mr H A. Penn: women's championship, Mrs J. Palmer: runner-up, Mrs E. A. Smith; section yankee competition, Mr F. Blunt; runner-up, Mrs Grey; Hettle Smith Memorial handicap, Mr H. Ford; runner-up. Mr A. C. Murray: handicap doubles (f>Mr and Mrs Penn’s prizes), Mes-, dames Pepper and Betts; junior championship, Mrs Brown; runner-up, Mrs James;, : junior B championship (Mr Dunn’s cup), Mrs Pargeter; runner-up, Mrs Crarhmond; • handicap ■ doubles (Mrs Smith’s shields). Mesdames Brown and Crammond: handicap doubles (Mr Richardson’s prize), Mrs Ritchie and-F. Dunn. On behalf of the club members a presentatlon“was made to the secretary, Mrs J. P. ' Maddren. A bridge party followed and the prizes given by Mesdames Barnes. Whitfield, and Adkins were won by Mr and Sirs Blunt and Mrs J. Brown. '
