BAND DISPLAY

TO THE EDIT OB 0» THE PRESS. Sir, —Your correspondent, “Cornet Player," has struck a sound note in his letter in “The Press” this morning. Quite a few will welcome his suggestion on regular broadcasting of bands by the YA stations on behalf of those unfortunate people being laid aside through sickness. At the same time “Cornet Player’s” suggestion may prove the more fruitful if he approached the popular ZB stations, which are apparently not so conservative as the YA stations in their selection of individual talent for a broadcast. Banda especi.ally should be given, more opportunity to display their activities, as- it is a recognised fact that bandsmen are a keen, hard-working combination, and are generally willing to parade in public at any time they are called on, and give yeoman service.—Yours, etc., NORTON WRIGHT. February, 9,. 1840. —.
