A workman had a miraculous escape from serious injury at Bluff to-day, when a 10-ton whistling buoy, which was being repaired on the ferry wharf, exploded with such violence that most of the town was shaken. The buoy broke adrift from Fairchild rock, Foveaux Strait, some time ago. It was being electrically welded when a piece about two feet square blew out with a terrific explosionThe workman was not injured, and fortunately no one was in the main line of the explosion.
