V. P. BOOT BEATEN TYRIE’S SUCCESS AT DUNEDIN (FBXS3 ASSOCIATION TELEGaAH.) DUNEDIN, January 15. In the 880 yards invitation handicap at the Otago Amateur Athletic Centre’s meeting on the Caledonian Gorund this evening H. J. Tyrie, the New Zealand 440 yards champion, oil 45 yards, defeated V. P. Boot (Wellington), the British Empire champion, in Imin 57sec. Boot’s time was Imin 58 2-ssec.
The track was slow. The track record is Imin 57sec, established in 1935 by L. C. McLachlan.
