AMI3RI CIA3B’S GATHERING

The Amuri Cob and Pony Sports Club was favoured, with ideal weather conditions for its fifth annual gymkhana, held on the Rotherham Domain on Saturday. After the beneficial rains of the early part of the week the turf was m capital order for equestrian events and a long and comprehensive programme was carried through expeditiously ana without a hitch by a band of enthusiastic and efficient officials. Entries for the 30 horse and five athletic events totalled 572, as against 470 last year—a previous record. Visitors were present from many parts of North Canterbury. Competition was particularly keen and a very high standard of horsemanship was : set, especially among the, juvenile riders. r During the afternoon the president (Mr G. J. H. Rich), on behalf of the club, made a presentation to Lieutenant R. Bethell, one of the regular officials, who will shortly be proceeding
