INTENTION TO RESIGN
DENIED

TOKYO, December 28.
The Prime Minister (General Al: ') declared that the Cabinet did not intend to resign and would pot be troubled by “the manoeuvres of professional politicians.” A no-confidence petition signed by 240 members of the Lower House was presented to General Abe yes- | terday, declaring that the Government’s -programme was unsatisfactory and blaming the Cabinet for the recent rice and fuel shortage. Party leaders asserted that dissatisfaction was spreading, and it was stated that the Government’s resignation could be expected.
