TIMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH ROAD RACE ' A meeting of the Mairehau Cycling Club discussed arrangements for the Timaru to Christchurch road race last night. Mr W. J. Walter presided. . T ~ A letter-was received from Mr J. V. Tozer, secretary of the South Canterbury centre, stating that they would give every assistance in collecting funds and in making arrangements for the start of the race, which will take place on Saturday, September 23. , • . The prize-list was drawn up as follows; First prize £25, second prize £lO, third prize £4. fastest time £lO with blue ribands for New Zealand road and Derby •championships. Other sums were fixed for the first rider under 18 years, together with 15 other awards.
