SOUTH AFRICAN WAR VETERANS

MEETING IN CHRISTCHURCH TO-MORROW To-morrow morning delegates from all parts of the Dominion will assemble at the annual conference of the South African War Veterans’ Association, which is being held in Christchurch. There are 26 branches, but more than that number of delegates are expected. Because of his Parliamentary duties the Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., has written expressing regret at his inability to welcome the visitors. It is expected that their deliberations will continue until Friday. To-morrow evening they will be entertained at an informal function. Mr B. Ellis, of Dunedin, will preside, and Captain J, J. Clark, of Wellington, will show a number of lantern slides dealing with the war, which have been presented to the Dominion association.
