SUNSHINE CLUB’S ANNIVERSARY
REUNION AT SPRINGSTON To celebrate ’the tenth anniversary of the Springston Sunshine Club, a banquet and reunion of members was held in the Springston Hall. Mrs P. V. Bailey (president) welcomed about 60 members. The two-tiered birthday cake, decorated in the club’s colours, gold and green, was cut by Mrs E. L. Neale (past leader), and the candle ceremony was performed by Mrs W. H. Tyson (vice-president). After the banquet a concert and dance was held, which many parents and friends attended. Mrs O. T. Bailey, club leader, presided. Items were given by Mr and Mrs Palmer, Misses P. Bray, Stacey, and I. Forward, a sketch was presented by Mesdames Gallagher and Coleman, and an “umbrella duo” by Misses Gallagher and Fitchett. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss E. Partridge and Mr R. J. Henderson. Messrs J. S. Simpson and W. H. Tyson were guests of honour. Those present included Mesdames E. L. Neale, B. Trist, A. Goodwin, W. Robinson, B. Millar, M. Millar, R. J. Wallis, T. Hornby, J. Haskett, Misses Edith Opie, Nowell Opie, Audrey Witte, Elaine Bailey, Annie Marshall. Marjorie Hughes, Ina Mounce, Stella Lugg, Millie Greenslade, Adelaide ‘Bissett, Gladys Wallace, Phyllis Wallace, Eunice Partridge, Winsome Heinisch, Ida Thomas, Ivy Thomas, Winnie Thomas, Margaret Thomas, Marjorie Everest, Mary Kime, Una Parrett, Phyllis Parrett (past members), and the following members: —Mrs P.
