VIEWS OF AMERICAN LECTURER
(PRESS 4BSOCIJLTIOK TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, July 19. “You in New Zealand have an educational system to be proud of. There is no need to make any apologies about it.” That, in essence, was the opinion expressed by Dr. A. K. Botts, of New York, addressing the Auckland Education Board 1 to-day. Dr. Botts, who has for a year been acting as lecturer at the Teachers’ Training College under an exchange system, expressed thanks for the opportunity to visit South . Island and other training colleges. "Comparisons I made on the southern tour were not to the disadvantage of the Auckland Training College,” he said. He added that, although in the United States; there a threp^or four-year course for teachers, the twoyear course adopted here was intensive and efficient.
