There is no need to make any apologies about it.” That, in essence, was the opinion expressed by Dr. A. K. Botts, of New York, addressing the Auckland Education Board 1 to-day. Dr. Botts, who has for a year been acting as lecturer at the Teachers’ Training College under an exchange system, expressed thanks for the opportunity to visit South . Island and other training colleges. "Comparisons I made on the southern tour were not to the disadvantage of the Auckland Training College,” he said. He added that, although in the United States; there a threp^or four-year course for teachers, the twoyear course adopted here was intensive and efficient.
