VISIT OF H. LINDRUM TO NEW ZEALAND Horace Lindrum, the well-known billiards player, Is expected to visit New Zealand shortly, accompanied by his wife. The council of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) received advice of the visit last evening and decided to invite Lindrum to give an exhibition in Christchurch. with or without Mrs Lindrum, provided that the visit can be made to the city not later than the first part of September. CANTERBURY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP The first round of the Canterbury junior billiards championship was concluded this week. P. Copp registered a sound 56, C. Hawker 43 and 27, C. Newton 31 and 35, G. Cormack 40, H. Hewinson 37, and C. Watkins 42 and 45. _ _ The results are as follows;—E. E. Doggett (North Canterbury) 300 beat J. King (Working Men’s Club) 232, R. Stewart (Returned Soldiers’ Association) 300 beat J. S. Pulley (North Canterbury) 223. C. Watkins (North Canterbury) 300 beat P Copp (Sydenham) 249, C. Newton (Pioneer) 300 beat G. Cormack (Tramr way) 232, C. Hawker (Working Mens Club) 300 beat H. Hewinson (Tramway) 231, C. Henderson (Working Men’s Club) 300 beat D. McLenaghan (Sydenham) 287, G Franklin and A. Falcon won their games by default. The following is the draw for the second round:—E. E. Doggett v. C. Watkins, K. Stewart v. A. Falcon. G. Franklin v. C. Hawker, and C. Newton V. C. Henderson.
