COMMITTED FOR TRIAL
MAORI CHARGED WITH FATAL NEGLIGENCE (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) GISBORNE, July 19. After a hearing lasting five and a half hours in the Magistrate’s Court today before Mr H. Walton, S.M., Mark Nepia, aged 49, a Maori, was committed for trial on a charge of negligent driying causing the death of Iris Annie Berry, aged 22, single, and two charges of failing to stop after an accident to see if any person had been injured. The accused pleaded not guilty. The Magistrate reserved judgment on charges of driving while intoxicated driving without a licence.
