PERMIT VALUES AGAIN INCREASE LINWOOD HEADS MAY FIGURES There was an increase of £20,000 in the value of building permits issued by the Christchurch City Council last month, compared with the corresponding month last year. The increase of last month’s'total figures over the total for April was more than £28,000. The total value of permits issued in May was £58,074, compared with £39,776 in May, 1938. The total for last April was £31,254. Permits for the greatest value were issued in the Linwood ward, with a total value of £17,333, while the value of permits for the Sydenham ward was £13,440.
