BOWLING CLUB’S DANCE
GATHERING AT PAPANUI 4 The Papanui Bowling Club concluded the season with a dance held in the Papanui Memorial Hall, which had been effectively decorated for the occasion with the club’s colours.
Music was supplied by the Travelling Troubadours, and the programme was directed by Mr D. Smith. Members of the ladies’ committee were the hostess, Mrs Owen, and Mesdames Hadley, Bond, Spiers, Lindley, Lilling, Lange, Plows, and Hartley. . Novelty dances were won by J. Foster and G. Hartley, G. Eggers and partner, Mr Dallow and partner. Among those present were Mesdames Anderson, Ransley, Cairney, Wise, Peters, Somes, E. McQueen (Dunedin), Clark, Baker. Adams, Simmond (Dannevirke), Wilson, Ward, Aitken, Henderson, Wright, E. Anderson, Currie, Hadley, Maher, Smith, Burrel, N. Case, Stackhouse, Bermingham, Koskella, D. Ransley, Misses G. Eggers, M. Hanson, J. Foster, A. Bisman, L, Hunt. N. Plows, H. Wilson, J. Wilson, O. Ward, Z. Ward, R. Smallbon, D. Hockey, T. Hayton, L. Sparkes, M. Armstrong, O. Brown, A. Fielding, Burrel.
