DATES OF TRIAL MATCHES
SELECTION OF N.Z. TEAM
At a meeting of delegates to the Canterbury Rugby League held recently, Mr C. H. Goodman presided.
Mr W. E. Desmond was re-elected chairman of the executive. The New Zealand Council advised that the following dates were allotted for trial games leading up to the selection of players for the tour to England and France. June 24—Canterbury v. West Coast, at Greymouth. July I—A and B trial game comprising players from West Coast, Buller. Inangahua, and Canterbury, at Christchurch. July B—North v. South game, at Auckland.
If possible, Canterbury will play Inanga-hua-Buller at Reefton on June 25. It was decided to open the Christchurch competitions pn April 15. Twelve senior and reserve grade teams will take the field on the opening day. Insurance was fully discussed and it was decided to raise the registration levy by 2s 6d a player. The Addington Club was granted permission to travel to Reefton at Easter. In the event of the arrangements not suiting the Addington Club It was decided that the Rakaia Club be given the opportunity to make the trip. Excellent reports were received from all clubs, promising a high standard of play in the coming season. BRITISH FOOTBALL RESULTS ' LONDON, April 3. ASSOCIATION Scottish League Dunfermline 5, Morton 2. RUGBY LEAGUE Halifax 20. St. Helens 5.
