OPPOSITION FROM HAWKE’S BAY
MEDICAL ATTITUDE TO HEALTH SCHEME (I'KKSS ASSOCIATION llL*o»A>t.) HASTINGS, April 4. Members of the Hawke’s tsay division of the British Medical Association ,are reported to be unanimously opposed to the social security scheme, which, it is understood, they will not work under at present. When inquiries were made this afternoon it was ascertained that medical practitioners m the province are probably stronger in their opposition to the scheme than medical men anywhere else in the dominion. However, the Hawke s Ea. division has decided to abide by decision of the Central Council of the New Zealand branch of the Britis.' Medical Association, vfhicb up to me present has refused to come unoer u»« scheme.
