New Zealand Government 4 .per cent, stock due 1946 changed hands at £99 12s 6d, and more was wanted at £9B 10s. Four per cent, stock due 1949-52 had business at £99 10s; market closing £99 buyers,' £99 12s 6d sellers. Three and a half per cent, stock due 1940-43 (ex interest) changed hands at £97 15s. Buyers of E., S. and A. Bank moved up to £5 4s, sellers at £5 4s 6d. Buyers of National Bank of New Zealand raised their bids to 46s 3d—an advance of Is on best offers on Tuesday—but sellers wanted 47s 6d. Sellers of Kaiapoi Woollens reduced their limits to 11s 6d, buyers at 10s 9d. An odd parcel of Westport-Stock-ton Coal realised 3s 9d; and there were further unsupported sellers at 3s lOd. Buyers of New Zealand Breweries moved up a point to 38s Id. British Tobacco were firm at 50s 6d, sellers staying in at that figure, buyers at 50s. Australian Consolidated Industries ex bonus issue of 11 new shares for every four held were available at 37s 6d, buyers at 30s. Broken Hill Proprietary rose to 59s 6d and there were further buyers at 59s 4d, sellers at 59s 9d. An odd parcel of G. J. Coles changed hands at 79s 9d, market closing 79s ouyers, 79s 8d sellers. Sellers of McKenzies, Ltd., reduced their limits to 40s 9d. Sellers of Taranaki Oilfields came down to 8s Bd, buyers at 8s 6d. ,Woolworths, Ltd., showed little variation with buyers and business at 235. sellers at 23s Id.

Grey River were firm with buyers and business at 18s 3d, sellers at 18s 6d. There was a close market for Kanieri, which were quoted at 35s 6d buyers. 35s 9d sellers.
