WORKMEN FROM AUSTRALIA
TO THE EDITOE OP THE FKBSB Sir, —In reply to “Haeremai” and “Ex-57th Battery, A.1.F.,” I advise them to go' to Sydney and try to get work by trading on the fact that they come from New Zealand. That 40,000 New Zealanders are employed in Australia does not prove that they are happy. A man’s reasons for staying in a country do not always include happiness. “Ex-57th Battery, A.1.F.,” says letters like mine tend to cause animosity. Should we let the importation of Australian workmen go on without criticism on both sides because some Australian war veteran is frightened the Australian may call the New Zealander a blanky blank and start a fight? —Yours, etc..
