TO TH* EDITOR OF THE PRESS Sir.—May I ask how much longer do the Christchurch storekeepers intend working for the local bakers? The margin of profit (for the storekeepers) for the sale of bread has always heen too small; now it is worse than ever, and if the storekeepers cannot get a better deal, now is their chance to leave the worry of delivering and collecting to the bakers themselves. In an endeavour to oblige my customers I took an extra half dozen loaves on Saturday last. They are still in mv shop, so (unlike the bread), I am only,—Yours, etc., ONCE BITTEN, March 14, 1939.
