In a match against the M.C.C., Border States, in their first innings, made 121 (Bowley 23). Wright took four wickets for 32, including the hat trick, and Wilkinson three for 15. The M.C.C., in its first innings, made 320 (Yardley 126. Valentine 39, Wright 61). Chapman look four v'-.kets tor 60 runs. Border Stales, in the second innings, have made 222 for five wickets 'Evans not out 72, Dowling not cut 60). SHEFFIELD SHIELD

In a SheffieM Shield cricket match. New South Wales, in the first innings, made 246 (James 45, Hynes not out 63). Cotton took three wickets for 44 runs, and Grimmett four for 53. South Australia has lost two wickets for 116) (Whitington 59).
