RAINFALL AT GREYMOUTH
MOST FOR TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS
DETAILS ; OF. Last year was the wettest at 'Greymouth for.'2B years, the total rainfall recorded being 121.40 inches. Rain fell on, no fewer than 210 days. The previous wettest year, since the turn of the century,; .was 1910, which eclipsed even last year with 125.89 inches’: of rain. In- October that, year there was a record monthly fall of 18.08 inches.
During the month of December just ended, rain fell on 27 of the 31 days, the total fall being 16.60 inches. This was greatly in excess of the December average, the next highest fall for that month, for- nine . years,, having been in December, 1933/ when. 14.06 inches fell. In December, 1937, rain fell-on 16 days for- a total- of 6.16 inches.
