DERBY MEETING AT HOKITIKA : The Hokitika Whippet Club held its Derby meeting on New Year s Day at the Hokitika racecourse- in beautifully fine weather. There was a large attendance, including owners from Christehurch, Dunedin,- and all parts-of the West Coast. Some good racing was seen. The track was in good,-order after recent rain. The. Hokitika Derby was won by me Christchurch owner, Mr. J. H. falcon, who filled first and second places with Mountain Glen and. Cheetah respectively. The open flat handicap was also won by a Christchurch owner, Mr W J-. Goobe, with White Sister. The middleweight handicap went to the . Dunedin owner, Mr P. McKinley, winning, with Phantom’s Gold.
