PARCEL POSTAGE RATES
TO THE EDITOR OT THE PRESS Sir, —In listening in on the wireless last week it was broadcast that parcels would 'be increased by about 10 per cent., and there would be a minimum of 2d for postal packets (which they did not say was an increase of 150 per cent.), being Jd for 2oz previously. As most of these packets such as cards, handkerchiefs, ties, etc., are well below the 2oz, the public will realise how tb£y are being well jleeqad sartafe-te
avoid 100 per cent, of this iniquity they will be able to do so by making any package under 2oz letter rates, which is Id an ounce for the first ounce and jd each additional ounce. What a nice Christmas box for the public from the Postmaster-General. I suppose we shall hear of the marvellous Christmas revenue after next week under the present administration.—Yours, etc., WORKER. December 22, 1938.
