The Pope, while dictating letters, suddenly collapsed and was placed in bed unconscious. He later recovered slightly. His doctors are very perturbed about his condition. His Holiness wanted to start work again when he regained consciousness, but his doctors forbade him to talk. "
Later the Pope conferred with the Secretary of State (Cardinal Pacelli) and gave seven audiences. He rested from 2 p.m.
