Binnie) reported at a meeting of the Kowai County Council, that all highways and main toads were now in good order for the Holiday traffic. The formation and samgling of the new road at Leithfield beach had been completed. The townships would also be cleaned up before Christmas. The financial statement showed receipts since last meeting were £384 Is 6d, and that there was now an overdraft of £893 16s 3d, which would be increased to £1254 os2d after the accounts amounting to £360 3s lid had been, passed for payment. The overdraft at the bank for the same date «st year was £1286 2s. Correspondence was received from the Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs 'Jdvising that under an amendment to the Dogs Registration Act every dog °wjier would be required to pay in addition to the registration fee 7 one shilling as a cost of a remedy for hydatids, which would be supplied by the council at the time of registration.
