INTOXICATED DRIVERS CONVICTED
(PEBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, September 1. "It is rather an absurdity that a large number of men should be able to get away from their work in the middle of the week to see a football match,” said Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, when hearing charges against two men of being intoxicated while in charge of motors. Counsel said that the accused had been to the Ranfurly Shield match, and had drunk too much liquor. Thomas Turnbull was fined £ls, his licence was Cancelled, and he was prohibited from driving for 12 months. Albert John Sanders, who drove into another car, which was extensively damaged, and had been fined in April last for a similar offence, was sentenced to two 'months’ imprisonment. . .
