The final of the ‘’Dominion" newspaper grand opera contest at the Wellington competitions resulted.'—Mrs Richard Bradley (Upper Hutt), 170 points, 1; Mr C. Sherrills (Longfyum), 168 points, 2; Miss Olga Burton (Khandallah), 166 points, 3; Miss Marie Campbell (Timaru), 162 points, 4. • Successes of visiting competitors in other classes on Saturday were as follows; Duet in character, 10 to 16 years: Betty and Dawn Olsen (Palmerston North), 2. Tenor test solo: Mr Victor Woodward (New Plymouth), 1. Women’s Shakespearean recitation.- Miss Eirene Hatbert (Gisborne), 2. Girls’ recitation. 14 to 16 years: Ivena Pothan (Hastings) (equal), 2. Boys’ recitation. 7 to 10 years: Craig Moore (Hastings), 1. Poetic or classic barefoot dance, 12 to 14 years: Margaret Scrimshaw (Hamilton), 1.
