' The chief feature of the meeting of the British Association, which has now ended, was a decision to set up a division dealing with the social and international relations of science. It is felt by prominent scientists among the 3000 who attended, that the new division will have enormous influence if it reveals scientific evidence which might provide a basis for progressive social policies.
Thirteen eminent English scientists and economists were nominated yesterday to a committee which will establish machinery for the new division. Professor Allan Ferguson, joint-general secretary of, the association, said v the would begin its work < immediately, as it was felt that there was a number of pressing . problems for conjideration;
