COAL STRIKE THREAT IN AUSTRALIA
MINERS STILL DEBATE LOG OF CLAIMS (Received August 11, 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 11. The coal-miners’ convention is still debating the log of claims which it intends to forward to the various State Governments and colliery proprietors. The latest decision reached by the convention to-day was to order the restriction of the output of coal from all mines so as to prevent the accumulation of stocks by gas companies, railways, and other large official and private undertakings which are anticipating a protracted strike.
“MATTER FOR STATE GOVERNMENT”
PRIME MINISTER WILL NOT INTERVENE

SYDNEY, August 11
The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons), who arrived at Sydney today after a tour of Queensland, said the Federal Government would not intervene in the coal dispute. He declared that it was a matter for the New South Wales Government.
