SPRINGSTON SOUTH DOMAIN BOARD
ELECTION OP OFFICERS AT ANNUAL MEETING
The receipt of more than £2O for the sale of firewood was mentioned by ihe chairman of the Springston South Domain Board (Mr E. J. Harris) as the reason for the receipts for the last year being considerably above normal, at the annual meeting of the board yesterday. If it were not this, he said, there would not be Sufficient funds from the license fees of the hut owners to meet the needs of the settlement. Also present at the meeting were Mr L. J. Pofi, representing the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Messrs IS. J. Jamieson, Alan Mcßean, H. Hamilton, and the secretary (Mr S. W. Jameson), The election of officers resulted as follows:—Chairman, Mr E. J. Harris; deputy-chairman, Mr F. W. Woodward; finance committee, Messrs E. J. Harris, P. W. Woodward, S. F. Barnett, A. Mcßean, and the Commissioner of Crown Lands; grounds com-
mittee, Messrs E. J. Harris, E. J. Jamieson, A. Mcßean, H. Hamilton, M. Ryan, and the Commissioner of Crown Lands; transfer committee, Messrs S. F. Barnett and F. W. Woodward. The resigr.ation of Mr C. Woolf, for health reasons, was accepted with regret. The chairman made reference to the splendid service given by Mr Woolf over a period of 21 years. The board nominated Mr F. W. White, of Christchurch, to succeed Mr Woolf, the nomination to be sent to the Minister for Lands for his approval. At an ordinary meeting of the board a letter was received from the Minister for Lands approving a grant of £25 to be spent on the children’s playground at Selwyn Huts. Correspondence was also received from the Selwyn Hut Owners’ Association announcing that the association had collected a similar amotmt for this purpose.
