CLERICAL WORKERS
TO THE EDITOR OF TIIE PRESS. Sir,—l see in "The Press" to-day a clerical worker offering £ls to secure a position. Surely it is time the m:' -• clerical workers woke up to the fact that men clerks are being put off and girls taken on in their place. One does not have to look far for the reason! It is the big difference between the award rates for males and females, the maximum being £5 5s for males and only £2 15s for females. Many of the girls filling these positions which should be available to men, are married with husbands in good positions. —Yours, etc., EQUALITY. , July 27, 1938.
