INANGAHUA WILL PLAY CANTERBURY B WEST COAST RUGBY UNION MEETS Approval of a match between an Inangahua Sub-Union senior representative team and a Canterbury B team at Reefton on August 20 was given at the weekly meeting of the West Coast Rugby Union on Tuesday night at Greymouth. Mr A. A. Adams presided. Because the Kotuku Club is unable to field a team on Saturday next, as its players will be at work, the emergency committee of the union will try to arrange for the Blaketown team to travel to Kotuku on Sunday instead. W. Teen (Kumara) and E. Dense (Kotuku). who had been ordered of! for fighting in a match, were placed on the caution list. | It was reported that Baird and Carroll. both Hokitika players, had failed to ■ travel with the junior team, and that the selectors had noted this. Permission was granted for the Star senior team to play Otira at Cobden on July 31. The application of the Inangahua Sub-Union for permission to play Puller B on Saturday next was granted. Fixtures for Saturday Fixtures were arranged as follows for Saturday:— Senior Grade—Cobden v. Kiwi, at Hokitika; Star v. Excelsior, at Rugby Park No. 1, at 3 p.m. (referee, Mr C. Cockburn); Blaketown v. Celtic, at Rugby Park No. 2, at 3 p.m. (Mr N. Eggleton); Pirates v. United, at Victoria Park A, at 3 p.m. (Mr M. R. Bunt). Junior Grade —Celtic v. Kumara, at Rugby Park No. 2, at 2.30 p.m. (Mr J. Minchin); Te Kinga v. Cobden, at Te Kinga, at 3 p.m. (Mr W. McLaughlin); Blaketown v. Kotuku. at Kotuku, at 3 p.m. (Mr F. Adams); Star v. Magpies. at Victoria Park B, at 3 p.m. (Mr S. West). Third Grade—Celtic v. Blaketown, at Victoria Park A, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr R. Ferguson); United v. Cobden, at Victoria Park B, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr W. Blair have left for Christchurch. Miss M. O’Donnell has returned from Christchurch. Dr. W. A. Bird left yesterday for Christchurch, and will return on Saturday.
