VISIT OF PRIME MINISTER
CIVIC RECEPTION PLANNED RANGIORA BUSINESS FIRMS TO CO-OPERATE Referring to the visit of the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) to Rangiora next Wednesday the Mayor of Rangiora (Mr C. W. Tyler) expressed the hope at the monthly meeting of the Borough Council last evening that business firms in the town would allow their staffs sufficient time off to attend a civic reception which will be held in the town hall at noon. . , , “Mr Savage is coming here, not to give a political address, but primarily to meet the people of Rangiora,” the Mayor said. “I hope that as many as possible will take advantage of the opportunity to meet him, and that business firms will find it possible to allow their employees time off for that purpose.” The visit of Mr Savage to Rangiora on Wednesday will be the first paid by him to the district while he has been Prime Minister.
