ELECTRIC POWER IN N.S.W.
LONDON EXPERTS REPORT ON SITUATION „ „ SYDNEY, June 24. The Premier (Mr B. S. B. Stevens) tabled a report in the Legislative Assembly of the London experts on power development throughout New South Wales. The experts recommend the electrification of the main railways from Sydney to Newcastle, Goulburn, Lithgow, and Nowxa, all within 140 miles of the city, the outlay on which will be £10,000,000 spread over 10 years. They also recommend hydro-electric systems in the country for the generation of power for railways and the development of rural and urban areas, the cost of which is estimated at £ 13,000,000.
