TRAGEDY TRANSMITTED BY TELEVISION
WOMAN’S PLUNGE FROM HIGH BUILDING (Received June 24, 11.55 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 24. A mobile television transmitter, making shots at Radio City, picked up the scene of an unexpected tragedy when a cameraman trained his instrument on the body of a young woman who plunged from the eleventh storey of the Rockefeller Centre. Engineers were startled to see a hurtling figure cross the screen and hear a scream from the crowds through the microphone.
