BENEFICIARY NOT FOUND

HOSPITAL BOARD’S GAIN SHARE IN RESIDUE OP ESTATE TWO YEARS ALLOWED TO TRACE HEIR , The failure to find a nephew of the testator in the time stipulated in the will has given the North Canterbury Hospital Board a share in the residue of £BOO of the estate of John Gale, who died at Christchurch on June 11, 1936. In his will he provided that if his nephew, Arthur George Morris, was not found within two years of his death, the residue of his estate was to be divided between the Widows’, Orphans’, and Aged Masons’ Fund of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons and the North Canterbury Hospital Board. Advice to this effect was received at yesterday’s meeting of the board from a firm of solicitors in a letter dated June 2. The letter stated that inquiries in England had failed to find the nephew and as the two years would shortly expire it was proposed to prove the will and distribute the estate. J. J. Dougall, who had been appointed executor under the will, had predeceased John Gale, and it was now necessary to appoint an administrator. It was proposed to ask the Court to appoint Leslie Arthur Dougall, and a form was enclosed for the board’s consent to this. The board consented to the appointment being sought.
