LABOUR RETAINS SEAT (Received June 17, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 17. The Barnsley by-election, made necessary by the death of Mr J. Potts (Labour), resulted:— F. Collindridge (Labour) ~ 23,566 S. Howard (Liberal National) 13,052 In the 1935 General Election the figures were:—J. Potts (Labour), 25,318; R, J. Soper (Liberal National), 17,683.
