ITALIAN SHIPOWNERS CONCERNED
LOSS OF TRADE AT TRIESTE IN APRIL TRIESTE, June 15. Shipowners are most concerned at the loss of trade since the German annexation of Austria, and they are urging the ' Italian Government to combat the threat of a further decline after the completion of the Rhine-Danube canal two years hence.
The port’s tonnage decreased by 26,000 in April. It appears that Germany is urging the use of German ships in order tq avoid clearing arrangements with Italy.
