HOSPITAL VISITORS’ ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF COMMITTEE Miss E. Cardale presided at a committee meeting 6£ the Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association held at the Christchurch Public Hospital. Others present were Mesdames S. H. Stewart, P. Cox, R. Beals, J. E. Fleming, P. Wynn-Wil-liams, Misses G. Widdowson, J. Lee, and L. Bowen. It was reported that during May, 17 patients had been granted one week and seven patients had been granted two weeks at. the Convalescent Home. One child had been granted two weeks at the Cholmondeley Home. Magazines for the library had been gratefully received from Mesdames Thomas, Henderson, J. W. K. Lawrence, and' a parcel from an anonymous donor. Accounts amounting to £26 19s 6d were passed for payment. Every woman prisoner serving more than six months in Britain now has a complete outfit of clothes—dresses, aprons, and underclothing—made to her measure, and they remain hers all the time she is in prison.
