METHVEN COLLIE DOG CLUB
ANNUAL TRIALS BEGUN The second day of the Methven Collie Dog Club’s annual trials was held yesterday in fine weather. Class 1, commenced on Thursday, was finished, and class 2 was begun. It is hoped to finish classes 2 and 3 to-day. Results were:— Class 1 (long pull)—Mr H. White’s Gale (39J points) 1. Mr C. Parker’s Fawn (36i points) 2, Mr R. Wilson’s Fly (36 points) 3, Mr Quale’s Roy (35 points) 4. The judge said that the winner gave a splendid performance, only losing half a point in heading. The second dog gave a good run, losing points on the pull home. The third also gave a good run, but lost two points through overrunning in heading, and it did not enter the ring in such good position as number 2. The fourth ran out well with a fair pull home, but slightly off line, artd thus losing two points. It again lost two points in holding and a further point for command. The judge said that the general-work was excellent.
