NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the EUesmere Lands Drainage Board held on Wednesday the Twenty-third day of March One thousand nine hundred and thirtyeight the following Resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Board to be held at the Office of the Tai Tapu Dairy Company Limited 86-90 Moorhouse avenue Christchurch on Wednesday the Fourth day of May One thousand nine hundred and thirtyeight at 9.45 a.m. as a Special Order:— SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING THE RAISING OF A LOAN OF £BSO. THAT in pursuance of Section 17 of "The Local Bodies Loans Act 1926 and of all other' Acts and powers it in that behalf enabling, the consent of the requisite majority of ratepayers of that part of the Board's District known as the Motukarara Subdivision as hereinafter described having been obtained in form and manner as prescribed by the regulations pursuant to Subsection (e) of the said Section, the consent of the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to Section 11 of the "Local Government Loans Board Act 1926" as set out in Section 29 of "The Finance Act (No. 2) 1932" having been obtained and gazetted the EUesmere Lands Drainage Board DOTH HEREBY RESOLVE by way of Special Order as follows: 1. THAT the Board proceed to raise a loan of Eight hundred and fifty pounds (£850) for the purpose of providing the Board's share of the cost of constructing Vorks for the diversion by means of a canal of the Halswell River by a more direct route to Lake EUesmere. 2. THAT such loan be called the "Halswell River Diversion Loan 1937/' 3. THAT the currency of the said loan shall be for a period of Twenty-, five years (25 years). 4. THAT interest on the said loan shall be at the rate of Three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s) per centum per annum payable half-yearly. 5. THAT the form of security for payment of principal and interest on the said loan shall be one debenture of £BSO and relative coupons in conformity with the provisions of "The Local Bodies Loans Act 1926." 6. THAT the Board doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the repayment of the said loan and the interest sinking fund and other charges thereon the special rate of 40/125ths ol a penny in the £ on the rateable value on the basis of the capital value on all land classified as Class A and 6/125ths of a penny in the £ oh the rateable value on the basis of the capital value on all land classified as Class B in that part of the Board's District known as the Motukarara Subdivision and more particularly described in the Schedule hereto. 7. THAT the principal and interest shall be payable at Christchurch in the Dominion of New Zealand free of exchange. . . ~ , 8. THAT the cost of raising the loan be paid out of the loan. SCHEDULE.
