COMPETITION AT METHVEN The annual field roots competition of the Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Thursday. Thirty-four entries were placed in front of the judges, Messrs Leicester T. Wright, F. J. Jenkins (turnips) and Mr McKay, of the Department of Agriculture (green feed and potatoes). The entries were not up to the usual local standard because of the unusual weather, and the pests which have been very disturbing to farmers this year. . .
